An Associated Nurse Characteristics And The Level Of Compliance With The Seven Principles Of Truth And Caution In Side Effects Of Drug Administration At Hospital Of Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia Medan In 2023

Abstract


A nurse's personal qualities are those of a person tasked with providing care for both sick and well people. When giving medication to patients, hospital nurses follow the seven right principles as part of their job obligations. This study employed an analytical survey research design using a cross-sectional method. The chi-square statistical test was utilised, and the results showed a significant value (α = 0.05). There were 88 respondents in the research population and 88 respondents in the research sample overall. The chi-square test results indicated that there was a significant correlation between the nurses' characteristics based on age (P = 0.001), education (p = 0.000), and length of service (P = 0.000). This indicates that the nurses' level of compliance with the seven principles of truth and their awareness of the potential side effects of drug administration at the Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia hospital are significantly correlated. This indicates that there was no significant relationship between the characteristics of nurses, the degree of compliance with the seven true principles, and being aware of the side effects of drug administration in Hospital of Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia. The analysis using the chi-square test yielded results indicating a significant relationship between the characteristics of nurses based on gender (P = 0.169). The conclusion from this research showed that a significant relationship between age, education, length of work and the level of compliance associated with the seven principles of truth and being alert to the side effects of medication administration, while gender characteristics do not have a significant relationship at Hospital of Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia Medan in 2023.
